Established more than 80 years ago, our law firm was founded in 1919 by Max E. Greenberg, long considered the founder and "Dean of Construction Law". Cementing its reputation with the enormous number of contract disputes and defaults arising during the Great Depression, the firm developed its expertise in construction-related representation. Since then, the firm has evolved to provide an extensive range of services in the areas of construction and real estate law, together with the general commercial law expertise required to comprehensively represent our clients. Principal partners David A. Trager. Todd L. Herbst and Kalvin Kamien joined the firm in 1963, 1977 and 1979 respectively, adding over 90 years of focused, real word expertise and capability.
While the firm remains a leading specialist in all phases of construction law, including construction and design contracts, preparation and presentation of claims, litigation, arbitration, asbestos litigation defense, mechanic's liens and surety bonds, the firm's specialization also extends into the venture capital, investment and real estate fields. The broad scope of the practice reflects the diversity of our clientele which includes major construction companies, trade contractors, builders, and both domestic and international developers and owners.
GT&H has been involved in some of the largest construction projects in the Northeast as well as numerous pollution control plants, major public works projects and many office, hotel, residential, school, commercial and manufacturing plant properties. The firm has offices in New York City and in New Jersey.
Having completed its World Trade Center related relocation to new midtown offices, the firm is in an even better position to respond to the needs of the construction and business community with a central location and state-of-the-art facilities.
